What is Dual
Agency?
One of the bedrock principles behind the founding
of Nest Realty Group is a stand against the
practice of Single Agent Dual Agency.
Real Estate Agency Law in Virginia also allows an
individual Realtor to represent both parties in a
transaction as a single agent Dual Agent.
At Nest Realty, we do not believe in this form of
Dual Agency.
Dual Agency is not in the
client's best interest.
Nest Realty prides itself on providing the best
possible service to our clients, and this means
complete focus on one aspect of the transaction.
We believe the Realtor cannot do a top-notch job
representing both the buyer and the seller.
Therefore, in a given transaction, I will only
represent either the buyer or the seller, not
both.
It is important to note the distinction between
single agent Dual Agency and something called
Designated Dual Agency: Real Estate Agency Law
allows 2
separate Realtors who work for the
same Supervising Broker to represent
opposing parties in one transaction in what is
called Designated Agency. Nest Realty does allow
designated agency and I can answer any questions
you have about this.
